...to the home page of Show Dog Handlers Club in Darwin in Australia's Northern Territory.

HISTORY

The Club was formed in the late 1970's and conducted its first event in September 1979 after operating as a Social Club for 12 months.  The judges at that first show were Gordon and Maria Archer.  It was largely through Mr Archer's influence that the Club got on its feet in the first place as he had judged in Darwin a few years earlier and spoke with a band of enthusiasts that were interested in setting up a show training club.  It was the greatest pleasure to be able to invite Gordon and Maria back when the club celebrated its 20 Year Anniversary in 1999.  It was with great sadness that we heard of the passing of Gordon Archer in January 2004.  Dogdom in Darwin is much better off for having known this lovely and knowledgeable man.
